My Journal Purchase
Why does it take so long to buy a stupid journal notebook? So yesterday, I went to Staples to buy a few office supplies: ink, printer paper, a small notebook and a journal for my new-found world of blogging. I thought that if I just had somewhere to put all of my creative ideas, that perhaps one day I would actually write my blog.
I gather up my shopping list of items. The last item was the journal. As I stood in the aisle trying to convince myself which journal would help to make me more creative, which would fit in my purse and which one would be easy to write in. I picked one up, put it down again trying to convince myself to make a lousy $6 purchase. I finally decided that I didn’t need a journal specifically for my blog thoughts. I would just use the 1.89 notebook that I use to write down my errands, bookkeeping info, and just general notes about nothing.
I walked away, two aisles picked up some more items I needed and then BOOM. It hit me…I do need a journal. As long as I debate about this silly purchase, the longer I will put off trying to blog. WOW pretty profound. So back to aisle 10..for the whopping price of $6.99 I bought myself a real journal just big enough to write in, and just small enough to fit into my purse. Now all I need are the million thoughts to come back to me, so I can begin to write!
I wrote this little excerpt on October 21, 2014. After 2 years of writing my thoughts, documenting our journey, and contemplating the ways of the world, The Stromads are born. I think at times, some of you find yourselves in the same silly predicament. It may not be a notebook, but it is some other crazy purchase. Today my friends, I encourage you to take that chance. Live a life of love of gratitude. Find your passion, follow your dreams and buy that journal! It will change your life!
Safe travels, be kind and always love one another.
